ESTUARY DRY BOAT REGATTA A WINNER IN LEOPOLD

Leopold’s local clubs and schools went head to head at Estuary on Sunday 1 May competing as part of the 2011 Estuary Dry Boat Regatta.
Racing across a 250 metre course at Estuary, the local Leopold Primary School took out the competition with their dry boat, ‘The Spirit of Leopold’, winning $1000 for their school.
After constructing a make-shift dry boat to race as part of the now annual regatta event, the competitors – including the Leopold Bendigo Bank, Leopold Primary School and the local Leopold CFA – raced in teams of six as part of the competition.
With over 100 event-goers watching on, the dry boat regatta proved a fun focal point of the day which also included a complimentary barbeque and plenty of fun family activities including a jumping castle, face painting and more.
Now in its second year, as part of the Estuary Dry Boat Regatta, Villawood also awarded prizes for the ‘most wacky boat design’ and the
‘best presented boat’.
Receiving an additional $250 for their school the Leopold Primary School also took out the prize for the ‘best presented boat’ while the Bendigo Bank took out prize for the ‘most wacky boat design’ with their boat ‘Captain Feathersword’.
Villawood Properties would like to thank all who participated in the Estuary Dry Boat Regatta 2011!
